An ecological wetland park covering approximately 130,000 square meters has recently opened to the public in Liuyang, Changsha, transforming what was once an overgrown wasteland into the area's largest waterfront public space. The Jichuan River Ecological Wetland, located in the Daowu area of Jili Subdistrict, features a main lake of nearly 21,700 square meters, 79,000 square meters of green space with a green space ratio of 85.9%, a lakeside running track, leisure beach, scenic boardwalk, and activity plaza.
Fully incorporating China's "sponge city" concept — using natural systems to absorb, store, and purify rainwater — the park has a rainwater storage capacity of 17,000 cubic meters, providing a flood control barrier for surrounding neighborhoods while continuously purifying water that feeds into the Liuyang River.
