On July 11, the Changsha Meteorological Administration issued the city's first orange high-temperature alert of 2026, with temperatures in many areas soaring above 37°C (98.6℉). Amid the sweltering heat, the swimming pool at the Xiangjiang Happy Water World in Changsha was packed with people, resembling a pot of boiling dumplings, as residents gathered to splash around and beat the heat.
