With the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently issued a new five-year tourism development plan (2026-2030). The Zhangjiajie–Langshan–Guilin cross-provincial golden tourism corridor has been designated as a national route to be actively developed. Shaoyang serves as a core pivot and key transit hub along the route. Leveraging its unique natural landscape, cultural resources, and multidimensional transportation network, Shaoyang is embracing new opportunities for high-quality development in its all-for-one cultural tourism.
The Zhangjiajie-Langshan-Guilin travel route connects three world-class cultural tourism destinations—Zhangjiajie, Langshan Mountain, and Guilin, featuring five World Heritage sites and seven national 5A-level scenic areas, and integrating magnificent mountains and waters, ethnic customs, and thousand-year-old cultural heritage.

Langshan Mountain
In January this year, the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee reviewed and approved the "Action Plan for the Construction of the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area." With the Wuling Mountains at its core, the plan covers the entire territories of Zhangjiajie, Xiangxi, and Huaihua, and includes parts of Shaoyang within its planning scope. Since then, Shaoyang has become an integral part of the development of the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area, deeply integrating into the cultural tourism development landscape of the province and the nation.

By securing a place in the five-year tourism development plan, the Zhangjiajie-Langshan-Guilin tourism route has become a "golden belt" bolstering Shaoyang's cultural tourism sector. Seizing the opportunities presented by the national corridor construction, Shaoyang's high-quality cultural and tourism resources are being comprehensively interlinked and upgraded. As the core landmark of the route, Langshan Mountain in Xinning is hailed as the "Soul of China's Danxia Landform," with renowned attractions such as Tianyi Lane and "Whales Frolicking in the Sea of Clouds" at the Bajiaozhai Scenic Spot. The Nanshan alpine meadows in Chengbu offer unique charm as a premier ecological wellness destination. Wugang's Yunshan Mountain, together with the thousand-year-old ancient city, embodies profound cultural heritage. In addition, distinctive resources such as the Huayao ethnic group in Longhui, the Huangsang National Nature Reserve in Suining, and the Baishuidong Scenic Spot in Xinshao offer diverse business formats, including folk culture experiences, ecological study tours, and rural leisure activities.
