Changsha New Port Facilitates Commercial Vehicle Export

According to the Changsha New Port Co., Ltd. of Hunan Chenglingji Port Group, between January and June this year, the roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) commercial vehicle throughput at the new port's operation area of Changsha regional port company reached 31,910, a year-on-year increase of 26.26%.

Changsha New Port is the only professional automobile ro-ro terminal in Changsha, the provincial capital. Since commencing operations in June 2019, it has become a crucial gateway for Hunan's automotive industry to go global. A port official said that this year, the port has established regular cooperation with automakers such as SAIC Volkswagen, BYD, Geely Auto, and BAIC Motor. By connecting to the Yangtze River's major ro-ro channel through "water-to-water transshipment," the port precisely allocates resources and innovates service mechanisms, effectively ensuring the quality and efficiency of commercial vehicle loading and unloading.

As NEV production continues to rise in Hunan, the ro-ro channel at Changsha New Port has extended its reach to multiple provinces and municipalities including Chongqing, Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Shanghai, and has opened international ro-ro routes to South America, North America, and Africa. From January to June this year, a total of 9,451 commercial vehicles were delivered for export via the port.
