Recently, the 10th Tourism Ministerial Conference of China, Russia, and Mongolia was held in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Sun Yeli, minister of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Aldarjavkhlan Jukov, minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia, and Vakhrukov, deputy minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

The Tea Road international tourism promotional event was held during the meeting. Li Aiwu, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, made a special presentation on behalf of the Chinese side at the event. Aldar Dorzhiev, minister of Tourism of the Republic of Buryatia, and Dagvajamts Batsukh, head of Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Department of Mongolia, also made presentations representing their respective countries.

Li Aiwu promoted Hunan's cultural and tourism offerings, highlighting its unique location, abundant resources, vibrant energy, openness, and inclusiveness, covering the Tea Road, stunning landscapes, thousand-year-old cultural heritage, local customs, and industrial development. The breathtaking landscapes of Zhangjiajie, Hengshan Mountain, and Dongting Lake are world-renowned. With 137 national-level intangible cultural heritage items and numerous historical and cultural blocks, Hunan showcases its thousand-year-old cultural heritage. Changsha is both trendy and fashionable, while western Hunan is rich in folk customs, where traditional allure and modern vitality complement each other perfectly. In 2024, Hunan's tourism industry surpassed the one-trillion-yuan mark, becoming a pillar industry that contributes to people's wellbeing and their sense of happiness. Focusing on the blueprint of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" strategy, Hunan is fully committed to building the "Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area." Leveraging the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, the province continues to optimize supporting services—including customs clearance, accommodation, payment, and language assistance—for inbound travelers. Li added that the province has launched a series of quality travel routes featuring "one trip with multiple stops" and tourism products, sincerely inviting tourists from China, Russia, Mongolia, and other countries to experience the wonders of China and explore the beauty of Hunan.

Hunan is a key tea-producing region and a vital trade node along the Tea Road. This promotional event also featured a special exhibition area for tea processing techniques, which were recognized as an intangible cultural heritage item. Hunan selected two items from the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for exhibition--the Yiyang Fu brick tea-making techniques and the Junshan Yinzhen tea-making techniques, vividly showcasing the unique craftsmanship and cultural essence of Hunan tea.

At the event, the China-Russia-Mongolia Tea Road International Tourism Alliance released ten major international tourism routes, including the Magical Tea Road Tour, the World Natural Heritage Tour, and the Eurasian Cross-border Self-drive Tour. These routes connect iconic landscapes and cityscapes across the three countries, integrating distinctive resources such as Tea Road-related intangible cultural heritage and trade relics, allowing tourists to experience the historical and cultural significance of the Tea Road and the natural beauty of the three countries.

Stretching 14,000 kilometers, the Tea Road served as a commercial thoroughfare linking north and south, Europe and Asia, and a corridor of civilizational exchange that spanned three countries and bridged East and West. It was hailed as the "Arterial Road of the Century." For centuries, this ancient route facilitated the exchange of goods among merchants and the blending of local customs from all directions, leaving a shared memory of deep integration and mutual understanding among the peoples of the three countries.
