The 32nd Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) is set to be held from June 17 to 21 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. With the theme "Using Books as a Medium to Facilitate Communication and Dialogue, Leading to Cooperative Success for All Parties Involved," this session features the United Arab Emirates as the country of honor. The Hunan delegation is fully prepared with 2,000 selected books and a distinctive 320-square-meter exhibition stand. Four special exhibition zones have been set up—the Exhibition Zone for Cai Gao's Works, the "Master of Excellence·China" Illustration Exhibition Zone, the AI Interactive Space, and the Cultural Creation Check-in Space. These will comprehensively showcase the achievements of Hunan's publishing industry in "going global," allowing visitors to embark on an international cultural exchange journey brimming with distinctive "Hunan flavor."

The 2,000 selected books highlight three categories:

The first focuses on key thematic publications, including Mao Zedong's Literary Discussions, the Yuan Longping Collection, and other award-winning works honored with the "China Publishing Government Award" and "China Good Books"; and masterpieces Wang Shan He (Gazing at the Mountains and Rivers) and A New Journey to a Powerful Country: China's Economy Towards 2030 which embody pivot themes of the country.

The second features distinctive local publications, encompassing the continuation of the Huxiang Library series, ancient books of Huxiang celebrities, "Zhongnan Good Books" series, and representative works reflecting Hunan's "three cultures—time-honored historical culture, profound revolutionary culture, and vibrant modern culture," such as General History of Huxiang Culture, Manufacturing Power, and Hunan Football League.

The third showcases international-oriented publications, displaying the achievements of Hunan's publishing industry in serving diplomatic goals and engaging in international exchanges.

In April 2026, Cai Gao, a picture book artist from Changsha, won the Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration, becoming the first Chinese creator to receive this honor in the award's sixty-year history. At this BIBF session, the Hunan exhibition stand will feature a dedicated Cai Gao's Works Exhibition Zone, displaying her representative works across multiple themes, formats, and languages. Additionally, the "Master of Excellence·China" Illustration Exhibition Zone marks another stop for this global illustration exhibition after its tour in Paris, Bologna, Florence, and Turin.Beyond the abundance of books, the Hunan exhibition stand will also impress visitors with technological allure. In the AI Interactive Space, the "Huxiang Library" will transform into an intelligent reading entity, allowing visitors to travel across time and space to "converse" with historical figures from Huxiang culture and explore the animated picture book space. At the Cultural and Creative Check-in Space, Lezhi Bookstore—an internet-famous landmark bookstore in Changsha—will promote its creative cultural and creative products and exclusive souvenir stamps, transforming the book fair into a cultural space where visitors can see, interact, and immerse themselves in the experience.The excitement extends beyond the exhibition stand. At this BIBF session, the Hunan Publishing Investment Holding Group will be invited to participate in the Beijing International Publishing Forum, where it will offer a Hunan perspective on cutting-edge topics such as "AI-driven systemic transformation in the publishing industry." Furthermore, the Hunan delegation will host a variety of special events during the fair, including the International Copyright Recommendation Conference for Cai Gao's Works; the 4th "Master of Excellence·China" Launch and Book Signing Ceremony; a press conference for the launch of "Heartfelt Children's Books" Brand of the Hunan Juvenile and Children's Publishing House; the "Children's Literature Pavilion on Maritime Silk Road" Sharing Salon; the launch and overseas dissemination and sharing event for the Japanese Edition of Tian Di Yang Cheng (Dust in the World); the English Edition Launch of "The Splendor of Traditional Chinese Music"; and celebration for reaching 10 million copies in print of Detective Mike Fox and its Russian Copyright Export Signing Ceremony.
