The 25th IAPRI World Packaging Conference opened in Zhuzhou on June 9, 2026. Experts, scholars, industry organizations, and enterprise representatives from over 20 countries gathered, exchanging their views under the theme "Future Packaging: Driving Transformation Through Innovation."

The conference is hosted by the International Association of Packaging Research Institutes (IAPRI) and organized by Hunan University of Technology in Zhuzhou City, running until June 12. The event features academic activities such as keynote speeches, parallel sub-forums, and poster presentations, alongside parallel sessions like a forum on the high-quality development of the packaging industry, creating an integrated format of "one conference with multiple forums, combining industry, education, research, and competition."

Hailed as the "Olympics of the Packaging Industry," the World Packaging Conference is held every two years. It is the most academically authoritative and influential international event in the global packaging field. This is the third time that the conference has been hosted in China, and is the first time in Hunan, following in Tianjin and Zhuhai.

Hunan University of Technology, as the host of this conference, pioneered packaging education in 1985, and has built a discipline system covering the entire packaging industry chain. It offers three first-level discipline doctoral programs, and has been accepted by IAPRI as its first Chinese member.
