Foreign Influencers Charmed by the Blessed Land of Huaihua

From June 5 to 7, 22 foreign influencers from 11 countries including the United States, Russia, Ghana, Germany, and Malaysia headed to "the Blessed Land"--Huaihua, after concluding their tour in Zhangjiajie. They explored Zhijiang, known as the "City of Peace," and Jingping Ancient Village in Zhongfang County, a thousand-year-old post station. Using their cameras and live streams, they offered an international perspective on Huaihua's culture, history, and folk customs, while immersing themselves in the city's rich, time-honored heritage.

The lineup of visiting influencers was impressive, with many creators boasting tens of millions of followers across all platforms. Active on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Douyin, they wield significant influence both at home and abroad.

Throughout their trip, the international influencers documented their journey on the go, shooting short videos and taking photos, with many live-streaming to their overseas followers. They actively engaged with local residents, telling Huaihua's stories in ways that resonate with international audiences. They promptly posted original content on their personal social media accounts, sharing Zhijiang's historical heritage, Dong ethnic culture, and local cuisine with their global followers.

"I'm so happy to come to Zhijiang. My first stop was the Memorial Hall of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Acceptance of Japan's Surrender, where I learned about the crucial role this city played during World War II," said a Russian blogger, who couldn't stop marveling at the city's rich history and culture. When discussing local cuisine, she raved, "My favorite is Zhijiang duck—it tastes absolutely amazing!"A Syrian blogger named "ZINE in China" also shared his thoughts, "I regret not knowing about this place before. I recommend that all my friends come and experience Zhijiang's wonderful culture."

From revolutionary historical sites to the world's longest wind-and-rain bridge of the Dong ethnic group, from authentic Dong cuisine to the distinctive grape wine of western Hunan, and to the lively intangible cultural heritage performances of the Dong ethnic group and the vibrant night market atmosphere—the rich array of experiences earned frequent praise from the bloggers.

Stepping into Jingping Ancient Village, the bloggers were captivated by the rustic village scenery, the melodious ancient music, and the exquisite Chinese bamboo weaving techniques, allowing them to experience the unique charm of the traditional ancient village. They wandered through the alleys, tried their hand at intangible cultural heritage crafts, and captured the beauty of the ancient village through their lenses.

Leveraging the influence of overseas influencers is a key strategy for Huaihua to expand its international cultural and tourism outreach. This expedition tour comprehensively showcased Huaihua's rich cultural and tourism resources, profound historical and cultural heritage, and vibrant ethnic traditions, effectively boosting the city's international profile and appeal.In the future, Huaihua will continue to organize various international cultural and tourism exchange activities, promoting cultural interaction between China and the rest of the world, and attracting more international visitors to explore the city.
