Recently, with the assistance of the Hunan GBA (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area) Economic & Trade Exchange Promotion Association, the orchard of the Baojing County Xianfu Fruit Production and Marketing Cooperative was approved by the customs authority as a fresh fruit exporting orchard, securing access to the international market. Hence, Baojing golden oranges have officially obtained export qualifications and can be directly supplied to Hong Kong, Macao, and other special administrative regions, as well as foreign countries such as Singapore, Thailand, and Kazakhstan. This demonstrates Baojing County's implementation of its opening-up strategy featuring "merging into the eastern economic hubs while strengthening regional ties in the west," using a small entry point to connect with the larger market.

The approved orchard is one of the orchards in Xiangxi Prefecture authorized for fruit export. It is located in Bi'er Village, Bi'er Town, covering a planting area of 134 mu (about 8.9 hectares) with an annual navel orange output of 260 tonnes. In strict accordance with customs registration standards, the orchard has established a standardized system for full-process pest and disease control, pesticide use management, and product quality traceability. Professional plant protection technicians provide end-to-end supervision, ensuring that fruit quality meets international quarantine requirements from the source.

As an important part of Baojing County's featured agriculture, the citrus industry in Bi'er Town has developed over several decades. Leveraging its unique ecological environment and selenium-rich soil, it has built a strong market reputation. "We will take this registration as a new starting point to continuously strengthen standardized management of the export fruit orchards, comprehensively enhance the scale, standardization, and branding of specialty agricultural products, and make every effort to promote more high-quality agricultural specialties from Baojing to international markets," said Tian Jingcheng, director of the county's characteristic agricultural sector development center.

In recent years, Baojing County has been continuously promoting the high-quality development of its citrus industry, focusing on variety improvement, quality enhancement, and brand building. It has actively established production-sales matching platforms for export, steadily promoting Hunan Products to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and establishing stable direct procurement cooperation with the area. The approval of the export fruit orchard represents a key leap for Baojing golden oranges, moving from the Greater Bay Area to the global market.
