五十年一纸日记，半世纪跨国情深。4月28日，爱尔兰都柏林大学足球队元老代表团重返长沙岳麓山爱晚亭，奔赴一场青春记忆里的怀旧之约。

A diary records five decades;  a friendship across borders spans half a century. On April 28, 2026, a delegation of football veterans from University College Dublin returned to Aiwan Pavilion on Yuelu Mountain in Changsha, fulfilling a nostalgic rendezvous etched in the memories of their youth.

这里正是50年前全队合影留念的地方。当年，代表团成员彼得·霍尔姆斯用笔写下长沙见闻 , 将湖南记忆细细珍藏于日记本中。时隔半世纪 , 昔日绿茵少年已成白发长者，故地重游，尘封的青春记忆缓缓苏醒。

This is the exact spot where the entire team took a group photograph 50 years ago. At that time, delegation member Peter Holmes recorded his experiences in Changsha in his diary, carefully preserving his memories of Hunan. Half a century later, the once-youthful footballers, now silver- haired, have returned to the place of their past. As they revisit the old site, long-dormant memories of their youth gently come back to life.

驻足爱晚亭下，代表团成员们细数过往，畅谈长沙翻天覆地的城市变化。眼前的蓬勃发展与当年的点滴记忆相互交织，倍感温暖与感恩。

Standing before Aiwan Pavilion, the delegation members recalled their past experiences and spoke with animation about the dramatic transformation of Changsha. The vibrant city unfolding before them, intertwined with their bygone memories, filled them with heartfelt warmth and gratitude.

以足球结缘， 以日记留痕，这份跨越山海的中爱民间情谊， 在岳麓山间温柔延续。

Kindled through football and preserved in diary pages, this people-to-people friendship between China and Ireland, crossing mountains and seas, gently lives on among the Yuelu Mountains.
