On April 18, a signing ceremony of the 60-meter oil tanker project for Singapore was held in Changsha. Zheng Ping, vice mayor of the Changsha Municipal People's Government, attended the event.

One party to the agreement is Maxwell Ship Management Pte. Ltd. Based in Singapore, the company specializes in ship management and the operation of product tankers, serving clients in the international shipping and petroleum industries. The other party is the Hunan Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (Xiangchuan Heavy Industry), a core enterprise in the high-end equipment manufacturing sector of the Changsha State Owned Holding Group. It is Hunan's sole state-owned shipbuilding enterprise and a nationally recognized specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise, with an 80-year history of shipbuilding. The agreement signed by the two parties covers the construction of two 60-meter oil tankers, which will be used for fuel bunkering, oil storage, and transportation transshipment in Singaporean waters.

In recent years, Maxwell has been searching globally for shipbuilding partners with solid technical expertise, consistent quality, and a commitment to long-term collaboration. After multiple rounds of discussions, on-site visits, and thorough evaluations, the company ultimately selected Xiangchuan Heavy Industry. This signing marks a significant milestone of Xiangchuan Heavy Industry's efforts to expand its presence in overseas markets. It also lays a solid foundation for future cooperation in building high-value-added vessels such as maritime patrol vessels, law enforcement vessels, and passenger ships for Singapore. Taking this as a starting point, both parties will write a new chapter of win-win partnership and mutual progress in the international shipbuilding sector, continuously empowering Changsha's advanced manufacturing industry and injecting strong momentum and fresh vitality into the high-quality development of the regional industry.
