On the morning of March 30, after undergoing customs inspection by the Huaihua Customs Authority, 48 tonnes of ammonium sulfate valued at 12,000 USD were placed into an export-supervised warehouse at the Multimodal Transport Service Center of the Huaihua International Land Port. These goods will be delivered to Australia in the near future.

(Photo/Zhang Zhuo)This was the first warehousing business handled by Huaihua's export-supervised warehouse and bonded warehouse ("Two Warehouses" for short) after they were approved. The "Two Warehouses" serve import and export of foreign trade goods respectively, providing multiple services including international warehousing and logistics, distribution and delivery, as well as duty deferral and streamlined licensing requirements. These entities can help enterprises better coordinate their business in domestic and international markets, maintain stable import and export supply chains, and lower logistics costs.The Huaihua International Land Port serves as a key hub linking China's central and western regions to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries, and to ASEAN countries and Africa. The port has launched seven international logistics routes, including the China-Laos and China-Vietnam railways, with a transport network covering 216 ports and stations in 69 countries and regions worldwide. The port handles 70% of freight transported southwards from the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor to the ASEAN countries.

Yang Changmei, deputy director of the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Commerce, stated that the "Two Warehouses" have enhanced the port’s warehousing function, playing a critical role in attracting export-oriented businesses, and laying a foundation for developing emerging industries such as cross-border e-commerce, processing trade, and cold-chain logistics. The "Two Warehouses" not only elevate the capacity of the land port, but also mark a milestone for Huaihua City in its transformation from a hinterland node into the forefront of the opening-up process in central China.

The Huaihua International Land Port is exploring and promoting the integration of the "Two Warehouses" with the China-Laos and China-Vietnam Railways, as well as rail-sea intermodal transport services, thereby enhancing the efficiency of assembly and distribution at the Huaihua International Land Port while providing more convenient logistics services for foreign trade enterprises.
