The Changsha Huanghua International Airport officially began implementing new schedules for its summer-autumn air transport season on March 29, 2026. The new schedules included a total of 120 domestic and international destinations—100 domestic and 20 international and regional ones. This was an increase of six destinations compared to the same period last year, further expanding the airport's route network.

For domestic routes, the Changsha airport has developed several high-frequency "express flights" to provide convenient options for business and leisure travel. Among these, the "Hunan-Beijing Express" operates an average of 30 flights per day, connecting to both Capital Airport and Daxing Airport. The "Hunan-Shanghai Express" operates an average of 15 flights per day, linking both Pudong and Hongqiao airports. The "Hunan-Hainan Express" operates 20 flights daily, covering routes to Sanya and Haikou airports. The "Hunan-Sichuan Express" operates 17 flights daily, reaching both Shuangliu and Tianfu airports. For popular tourist destinations, Changsha serves eight destinations in Yunnan Province, including 15 daily flights to Kunming and six daily flights to Lijiang.

The Changsha airport continues to expand its domestic regional network. Compared to the same period last year, the new flight schedule this year includes new routes to Bazhong in Sichuan, Fuyang in Anhui, Weihai in Shandong, Baise and Guilin in Guangxi, Korla, Barkol, Qitai, and Yining in Xinjiang, and Jiaxing and Lishui in Zhejiang, further diversifying the domestic route network.

For international and regional routes, the Changsha airport plans to operate approximately 63 passenger flights per week. Flights to Hong Kong, China will maintain one daily flight, with the schedule optimized to operate during daytime hours throughout the week, to facilitate passenger connections. For routes to Southeast Asia and the RCEP regions, there will be an average of one to two or more daily flights. The routes include those to Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Bangkok, while also offering services to characteristic destinations such as Hanoi, Phnom Penh, Vientiane, and Yangon. Regarding intercontinental routes, the Changsha-Nairobi and Changsha-London Heathrow routes are operating steadily, establishing efficient "air channels" for travel between China and the rest of the world.
