The Changsha Customs Authority announced recently that in the first two months of 2026, Hunan exported 7.48 billion CNY worth of high-tech products, representing a year-on-year increase of 57.1% and hitting a record high. This growth rate was 22.7 percentage points higher than the national average, ranking fifth nationwide. The province's monthly export value of high-tech products has maintained positive growth for 22 consecutive months, demonstrating remarkable resilience in foreign trade innovation.
In the first two months, exports of high-end equipment reached 3.13 billion CNY, up 18.5%, accounting for over 40% of the provincial total in this regard. Among these, exports of special equipment totaled 2.75 billion CNY, up 17.5%; exports of electronic information products accelerated significantly, reaching 1.88 billion CNY, up 75.1%; and exports of integrated circuits surged 12-fold year-on-year to 890 million CNY.
Exports of new energy and new materials also saw explosive growth. Exports of new energy vehicles reached 700 million CNY, expanding by 327.9%, and those of new materials totaled 730 million CNY, surging by 622.6%.
The EU remains Hunan's largest trading partner. Statistics show that in the first two months, Hunan's exports of high-tech products to the EU and ASEAN totaled 1.65 billion CNY and 1.3 billion CNY, representing increases of 161.8% and 145.7%, accounting for 22.1% and 17.4%, respectively.
Hunan's exports to a single country showed particularly striking highlights. Exports to Bulgaria surged 94.2 times, while those to Malaysia and Thailand increased by 801.4% and 541.9%, respectively, as the province continues to expand its overseas market.
During the January-February period, Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan collectively exported 6.43 billion CNY worth of high-tech products, taking up 86% of the provincial total and firmly maintaining the dominant position. In particular, Changsha exported 4.48 billion CNY, a 35.7% increase, accounting for nearly 60% of the provincial total. Xiangtan and Zhuzhou exported 1.09 billion CNY and 860 million CNY, respectively, demonstrating the achievements of coordinated industrial development of Changsha, Xiangtan, and Zhuzhou.
Private enterprises continued to play a leading role in foreign trade. During the first two months, private enterprises across the province exported 6.36 billion CNY worth of high-tech products, a year-on-year increase of 56.1%, accounting for 85.1% of the total. Key private enterprises such as the Hunan Bosen Supply Chain Co., Ltd, Changsha HKC Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., and Hunan Geely Automobile saw rapid export growth, reinforcing their leading market position.
