US student delegation wraps nine-day visit to Beijing, Hebei

A delegation of 100 students and teachers from Iowa, the US, is wrapping up a nine-day visit to China.

The visit, from March 14 to 22, is part of an initiative set forth in 2023 to invite 50,000 young Americans over five years for exchange and study programs.

This delegation was invited by the Shijiazhuang Foreign Language School. Its Friendship Legacy study tour has hosted 1,163 US participants since its beginning in 2023.

The delegation's journey began in Beijing, where they explored an Olympic museum, walked the Great Wall, and visited Peking University. In Shijiazhuang, they joined Chinese peers for cultural activities like calligraphy, paper-cutting, and Chinese knots.

The itinerary also included experiencing local family life, visiting the Shijiazhuang Zoo to see pandas, and touring a rural vitalization demonstration park in Zhengding county. They will also go to Handan before wrapping up the journey in Hebei.
