A delegation of the Changsha Municipal People's Government visited the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area between March 7 and 9, 2026. The tour aimed to connect with high-quality resources, broaden cooperation channels, strengthen industrial synergy, and learn from the successful experience of preparing for the National Games.

Sun Zhiyang, deputy secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Guangzhou City, and Zhang Hua, vice mayor of Shenzhen City, participated in related activities. Chen Bozhang, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and mayor of Changsha City, led the delegation for the inspection tour.

Jiang Guilin, deputy general manager of Hunan Chasing Financial Holdings Group; Changsha municipal leaders Xiao Zhengbo, Qin Zuoyan, and Zheng Ping; and, Xu Fan, secretary general of the Changsha Municipal People's Government, joined the trip.

From March 7 to 9, Chen Bozhang, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and mayor of Changsha City, led a delegation to inspect the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Mayor Chen introduced Changsha's development advantages to enterprise leaders, listened to their suggestions and concerns, and expressed gratitude for their attention to and support for the city. The mayor sincerely welcomed all parties to comprehensively engage in building Changsha's modern industrial system and to share the progress benefits. Changsha will focus on enterprise needs and local capabilities, and thoroughly implement the "Enterprise Service Year" initiative, empowering and enhancing the high-quality development of enterprises.

The 16th National Games will be held in Hunan in 2029. During the inspection tour, Mayor Chen and his delegation specifically visited venues for the 15th National Games, including the Shenzhen Universiade Center, Shenzhen Bao'an Happy Theater, and Guangdong Olympic Sports Center. The delegation learned about venue construction and renovation, event operation support, and post-event management of the facilities. Regarding the preparatory work for the Changsha competition zone, they held discussions with Peng Gaofeng, executive deputy director and secretary general of the Executive Committee for the Guangzhou competition zone of the 15th National Games and the National Para Games.

Mayor Chen stated that co-hosting the 16th National Games presents a significant opportunity for Changsha to elevate its urban capabilities and advance high-quality development. He expressed his hope to further strengthen exchanges and interactions in the future, benchmarking against advanced event management practices to advance all preparatory and support services with high standards and efficiency. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly exploring the characteristics of Huxiang culture, meticulously shaping the city's identity, and balancing the needs of the event with its post-event utilization. Through high-level event organization, Changsha aims to unleash new momentum for its development, he added.
