8年拄拐，8小时手术，跨越万里，她在长沙重新站起来……

Eight years on crutches. Eight hours in surgery. Thousands of miles traveled. In Changsha, she stood up again.

现年57岁的马佩凯科·玛丽来自非洲加蓬共和国，近日在长沙泰和医院完成了“双髋关节置换+腰椎管减压”复合特大手术，从长期依赖双拐到即将独立行走回家。

Ms. Mapékékó Marie, 57, traveled from Gabon, Africa, to Changsha Taihe Hospital for a complex "double hip replacement plus spinal decompression" surgery. After years of relying on crutches, she is now preparing to walk home on her own.

玛丽因双髋及腰椎严重病变，长达八年无法正常行走。在同事推荐下，她毅然选择跨越半个地球来长沙求医。2月9日，由13名专家组成的多学科团队历经8小时“接力手术”，成功为她实施了一期双侧髋关节置换及世界前沿的AUSS全脊柱内镜下减压术。

For eight years, Marie struggled to walk due to severe hip and spinal conditions. Following a colleague's recommendation, she traveled halfway around the world to seek treatment in Changsha. On February 9, a 13-member multidisciplinary team performed an eight-hour "relay surgery," successfully completing bilateral hip replacement and a cutting-edge AUSS full-endoscopic spinal decompression in a single procedure.

术后仅两周，玛丽便能在康复师的指导下独立行走。“我能站起来了，能走动了，还可以把脚抬起来。”玛丽激动地说，“这里让我感到舒适和满足。”恰逢中国农历新年，医护团队送上春联、饺子等暖心关怀，让她在异乡感受到“中国温度”。

Just two weeks after surgery, Marie was able to walk independently under her therapist's guidance. "I can stand. I can walk. I can even lift my feet," she said emotionally. "I feel comfortable and content here." During the Chinese New Year holiday, her medical team surprised her with handwritten couplets and dumplings—a warm gesture that made her feel at home in a foreign land.

从加蓬到长沙，玛丽的选择并非孤例。近年来，越来越多国际患者跨越山海来华就医，看中的正是中国医疗的技术实力与高效服务。这场跨越万里的生命接力，不仅让一位非洲母亲重获行走的尊严，也成为中国医疗积极参与全球健康事务的生动写照。

This remarkable journey across continents not only restored a mother's ability to walk with dignity but also stands as a powerful example of China's growing role in global healthcare.
