Hunan to Advance 4,345 Major Projects Construction in Q1

On January 15, the Information Office of Hunan Provincial People's Government held a press conference on implementing several measures to ensure that the economy makes a steady start in the first quarter of 2026. Wang Yingchun, special deputy director of the Economic Affairs Office of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, introduced that Hunan Province has listed 4,345 major projects across three categories to be implemented in the first quarter.

The first category of 3,000 ongoing projects constitutes the "main body." Efforts will focus on fully tapping the investment potential of projects carried over from the "14th Five-Year Plan" period into the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, enabling them to play a crucial supporting role in the first quarter.

The second category of 777 newly-started projects represents "incremental growth." Focusing on the goal of launching all feasible projects, efforts will be made to complete more tangible work and strive to generate new investment-driven effects in the first quarter.

The third category comprises 568 projects competing for funding, representing untapped potential. By seizing policy opportunities such as the early allocation of central funds and increased central subsidy standards, Hunan will actively submit a batch of projects aligned with support priorities. The goal is to secure inclusion of more projects in the national portfolio, thereby building momentum and empowering stable investment throughout the year.
