Mao Ning, a spokesperson of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recently promoted a Hunan-made airborne wind power generator on a social media platform to the world. This airborne wind power generator was independently developed by an enterprise in the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, and manufactured and assembled at the Yueyang Economic and Technological Development Zone. Measuring 60 meters long, 40 meter wide, and 40 meters high, it looks like a huge "airship."

On January 5, this fantasy silver "airship" ascended to an altitude of 2,000 meters in 30 minutes and floated there steadily in Yibing, Sichuan Province.

This is the world's first megawatt-level stratosphere airborne wind energy system (SAWES) suitable for urban use, independently developed by the Changsha Linyi Yunchuan Energy Technology Co. Ltd. During this maiden test flight, it generated 385 kWh of electricity into the grid.

This test flight has set new records for floating wind power generation. This milestone represents a significant step forward, extending the application of this cutting-edge technology from remote sites such as gobi deserts and islands to urban settings.
