In 2025, Changsha handled 1,037 China-Europe freight train trips, surpassing the 1,000-trip mark for the fifth consecutive year. To date, the cumulative trips run by the China-Europe (Changsha) freight trains have surpassed 6,500 since their launch.

A total of 85,072 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of cargo valued at over 2.3 billion USD were transported via the freight trains last year. Of the total, there were 681 outbound and 356 inbound train trips, with the scale and efficiency continuously rising.

With 12 regular "premium routes", the China-Europe (Changsha) freight train service now reaches 100 cities in nearly 30 European and Asian countries, providing robust logistics support for high-standard opening-up.

At the end of 2025, China's first single negotiable cargo document (NCD) for multimodal transport, issued based on the United Nations Convention on Negotiable Cargo Documents, was successfully applied to the China-Europe freight train service in Changsha. This innovation has addressed the problem facing the industry that railway waybills cannot serve as documents of title. The Changsha Logistics and Port Office and the Xingsha Customs Authority have worked together to facilitate the operations of China-Europe freight trains.
