At 9 a.m. on January 7, 2026, the Sixth Session of the 16th Changsha Municipal People's Congress opened at the Changsha People's Hall. Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, attended. Chen Bozhang, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and acting mayor of Changsha City, delivered a report on the work of the Changsha Municipal People's Government to the congress. Luo Zuanji, director of the Standing Committee of the Changsha Municipal People's Congress, presided over the meeting.
With the people's high expectations in mind, deputies to the municipal people's congress from all walks of life and all sectors, gathered together to fulfill their solemn duties in accordance with the law. They discussed plans for Changsha's development and mapped out a bright future, building broad consensus and pooling strengths to write a new Changsha chapter in Chinese modernization.
