On December 29, the "Floral Splendor on Porcelain—Invitational Exhibition on Works of Renowned Hunan Flower-and-Bird Painters" officially opened in the temporary exhibition hall of the Liling Porcelain Museum. Organized by the Hunan Flower-and-Bird Painters Association and the Liling Museum, and undertaken by the Hunan Qingyun Art Museum, the exhibition will last until March 3, 2026 and is open to the public free of charge.

As a major cultural and artistic event spearheaded by Liling from late 2025 to early 2026, the exhibition brings together 16 representative artists in Hunan's flower-and-bird painting sector. The senior, middle-aged, and young artists gathered in Liling to showcase the diverse facets and vibrant creative energy of Hunan flower-and-bird painting.

There are 77 works of flowers and birds on display within the exhibition hall, presenting meticulous brushwork and bold, freehand strokes full of profound Hunan cultural heritage. Forty sets (pieces) of Liling ceramic floral and bird works boast diverse forms and dazzling glazes. They encompass both classic masterpieces by veteran ceramic artists such as Deng Wenke, Lin Jiahu, and Xiong Shenggui, as well as innovative works by the younger generation including Huang Xiaoling, Huang Yongping, and Liu Jinsong. These pieces demonstrate the unique charm and enduring vitality of Liling's underglaze five-colored porcelain firing techniques. The cross-disciplinary collision between brush-and-ink painting and underglaze five-colored porcelain not only opens new artistic horizons for flower-and-bird painting in Hunan, but also highlights Liling's leading role as the "Porcelain Capital" in artistic innovation.
