The Changsha Ecological Zoo announced on December 29 that it will launch a series of special activities during the 2026 New Year's Day holiday, blending Chinese zodiac horse culture, animal science education, and traditional folk customs to create immersive festive experiences for visitors.

During the holiday, two animal parade performances will be held at the zoo's walking zone from 9:50 AM to 10:50 AM and from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM every day. The exact schedule is subject to change. Led by a white horse-drawn carriage, the procession will feature camels, black bears, alpacas, ponies, and adorable cartoon figures. It will follow a 30-minute route that passes successively by the Ring-tailed Lemur Island Front Plaza, Leopard Pavilion, Tiger Pavilion, and Elephant Pavilion. The parade will end at the final plaza, where visitors can interact with animals. After the parade, a horse-riding experience will begin, offering tourists the chance to take photos with the carriage and the white horse.

Well-behaved alpacas win everyone's hearts.

During the holiday, adorable ponies will make a special appearance on the open lawn. Children can not only interact closely with them but also enjoy rides.

To enhance the festive atmosphere, the zoo has decorated its tourist center, ticket gates, and main walking paths with vibrant red lanterns and silk palace lanterns. Illuminated lantern trees have been seen at the zoo's iconic spots including the Leopard Pavilion and the Swan Lake. Interactive installations in some venues have been upgraded, and funny directional signs have been added to the lawn area, combining visual appeal with practicality.
