2025 Hunan Football League Concludes Semifinals

After two penalty shootouts, the semi-finals of the 2025 Hunan Football League concluded on December 21. The Yongzhou and Changde teams defeated their Changsha and Zhuzhou rivals, securing their access to the final.

In the semifinals held at the Zhuzhou Sports Center on the evening of December 21, the regular-time match between the Zhuzhou and Changde teams ended in a goalless draw. During the penalty shootout, each team missed one shot in the first five rounds. In the sixth round, the Zhuzhou player stepped up but missed, while the Changde player Wang Kuifeng secured a 5-4 victory for his team with a "Panenka" penalty kick.

The other semifinal took place a day earlier at the Changsha Helong Sports Center, where the top-seeded Changsha Team facing off against the Yongzhou Team. The match ended in a 2-2 draw in regular time and went into the penalty shootout. Finally, Yongzhou pulled off a 9-8 victory over Changsha.

The 2025 Hunan Football League has attracted nearly 2.3 million visits since the kickoff on September 7. The final will be held at the Changsha Helong Sports Center on the evening of December 27.
