Hunan's exports of high-tech products reached 35.77 billion CNY in the first 11 months of this year, marking a 26.8% increase compared with the same period last year. The exports grew 31.5% in November alone, maintaining positive growth for 19 consecutive months since May 2024, said the Changsha Customs Authority on December 19, 2025.
By export destination, ASEAN, the EU, and Africa all saw varying degrees of growth. During the January-November period, Hunan's exports of high-tech products to ASEAN surged 111.7% to 8.27 billion CNY, accounting for 23.1% of the provincial total. Exports to Indonesia, Vietnam, and Singapore all saw substantial increases. Concurrently, exports to EU countries totaled 5.25 billion CNY, up 25.9%. Exports to African countries climbed 32.9% to 2.07 billion CNY.
Considering the product structure, Hunan's high-tech exports currently focus primarily on high-end equipment and new energy vehicles. Thanks to the transition of "Hunan Manufacturing" to "Hunan Intelligent Manufacturing," the province exported high-end equipment worth 16.2 billion CNY in the first 11 months, marking a 23.4% increase and accounting for 45.3% of the total. Among these, exports of aerospace, rail transit, and specialized equipment rose 51.1%, 24.2%, and 22.9% respectively. During the same period, exports of new energy vehicles rocketed 306.7% to 5.3 billion CNY.
The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster is positioned as the key arena, with private enterprises acting as the main force. These enterprises collectively accounted for over 80% of the provincial total high-tech product exports during the same period. Leading enterprises—Changsha BYD Auto Co., Ltd., Hunan Anker Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., and Changsha HKC Optoelectronics Technology—saw growth rates of 749.8%, 23.7%, and 43.8%, respectively.
