On November 26, villagers covered taro fields with mulching films in Xilingtou Village, Maojun Town, Lanshan County. Following the Xiaoxue or Minor Snow solar term, local farmers have seized the farming season to carry out film covering operations, effectively preventing frost damage and ensuring the safe overwintering of taro crops. In recent years, the county authority has adopted a "leading enterprises + cooperatives + plantations" model. Through establishing standardized plantations, optimizing varieties, and unifying technical standards, the county has developed over 30,000 mu (approximately 2,000 hectares) of scaled taro cultivation. This initiative has not only strengthened the collective economy of villages but also broadened income channels for farmers. (Photo/Huang Chuntao and Li Mei)
