On November 26, the Hunan Embodied Artificial Intelligence (AI) Innovation Center commenced operations at the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone. As the province's first specialized innovation platform for embodied AI, the center integrates robot learning, testing and pilot-scale testing, R&D and incubation, and industrial training. It aims to establish a comprehensive ecosystem across the entire industrial chain ranging from technological R&D and manufacturing to testing and scenario implementation.

The center has appointed Wang Yaonan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as the director of its technical committee. The first-phase project covers approximately 7,000 square meters and plans to deploy over 120 robots. It is operated by the Hunan Zhiqi Future Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by the Lens Technology and Chinese robotics firm AgiBot. Currently, the center has brought together nearly 30 ecosystem enterprises, covering the entire industrial chain from joint modules and controllers to final machine integration.

"Embodied AI represents a new productive force driving the transformation of production methods," said Zhou Qunfei, chairwoman of the Lens Technology. Zhou added that the company will focus on technological breakthroughs, ecosystem integration, and achievement commercialization to advance the large-scale applications of robots in industrial manufacturing, and healthcare and wellness. Concurrently, the Lens Intelligent Robot Yong'an Industrial Park has been put into operation, forming a synergy of "R&D + manufacturing" with the innovation center.

Industry insiders believed this move represents a significant step for the Lens Technology in establishing itself as a leader across three key sectors—consumer electronics, automotive electronics, and robotics, injecting new momentum into Hunan's efforts to build a hub for artificial intelligence and robotics industries.
