The 2025 China (Hunan) Global Sourcing and Investment Summit, hosted by the China Association for Promoting UN Procurement, opened at the Changsha International Convention Center on November 17. Over 2,000 guests from government departments, UN agencies, international business associations, and key foreign trade enterprises gathered to support Hunan's competitive industries in deeper integration into global industrial and supply chains, while exploring new channels and opportunities for international procurement, industrial investment, and supply chain innovation cooperation.
Themed "Boundless Business, Hunan Connecting the World–Building a New Future for International Procurement," the conference holds significant importance for Chinese enterprises seeking to expand into international markets and participate in the broader economic circle of the Belt and Road Initiative under China's new dual-circulation development paradigm.
A representative from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Agriculture expressed confidence in future investment cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. In his speech, he noted that Uzbekistan is an agriculture-based nation, while Changsha is a globally renowned manufacturing hub. Establishing a practical, mutually beneficial, and sustainable partnership could not only inject new vitality into Uzbekistan's agricultural modernization but also deliver tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
On the first day, two major economic and trade events—the International Sourcing and Investment Forum and the International Procurement and Investment Matchmaking Conference—were held. Experts, including Zhang Jing'an, academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences; Zhang Lili, vice president of Bureau Veritas China; and Guy J. E. Cloutier, CEO of CTC Group, delivered speeches, offering insights into the future of international procurement and cross-border cooperation and providing attendees with a "brainstorm" under a global perspective.
The highlight was a procurement fair, where 120 international buyers and 480 suppliers engaged in face-to-face exchanges. Representatives from over 480 Chinese enterprises, including Hengyang Kangyifan Medicine Co., Ltd., negotiated with counterparts from Russia, Germany, Spain, and several Fortune Global 500 companies. Over 100 preliminary cooperation agreements were reached on-site, with the total value of intended contracts expected to exceed 10 billion CNY.
During the conference, specialized events such as the International Trade Forum and new product/technology launches will be held. Notably, the inaugural Ireland Economic and Trade Forum will facilitate precise matchmaking between Chinese enterprises' products and Irish procurement needs, opening a new route for "Hunan products going global.
"The conference is scheduled to run through November 18, with total participating enterprises expected to surpass 480. It aims to foster precise alignment between Hunan and UN international procurement industrial chains, deepen win-win cooperation, and contribute "Hunan strength" and "Hunan wisdom" to global economic and trade development.
