Foreigner (F)：Ms. Sheng, when I first saw Lady Xin Zhui, I couldn't believe she died in 168 BCE—her skin still looks elastic. How is that even possible?

盛教授，我第一次看到辛追夫人，很难相信她死于公元前168年，皮肤竟仍有弹性，这怎么可能？

Sheng (S)：Good question! The ancients built a time-capsule: four nested coffins, five tons of charcoal, white kaolin clay, and a mercury-rich liquid. Together they created a hermetic environment that stopped bacteria and enzymes.

问得好！古人打造了一个“时光胶囊”：四层套棺、五吨木炭、白膏泥，以及含汞的神秘液体，共同形成一个密闭环境，细菌和酶都被抑制。

F：So it’s totally different from Egyptian mummies wrapped in resin.
