Meishan Nuo Opera developed on the basis of Nuo Dance, mainly prevailing in the ancient Meishan region of Hunan, including Lengshuijiang City and its surrounding areas. It's a traditional theatrical performance of prayers and offerings to the gods, combining songs, dances, rituals, and sacrifices, using humors to dispel fear and employing laughter to respond to impermanence. It's not an elitist art, but a grassroots celebration, recounting the most down-to-earth stories. For millennia, people have sung, danced, and lived in Nuo Operas. The rough singing styles and funny gags carry the simplest wishes: peace, harvests, and the liveliness that never fades from the lives of ordinary people.

梅山傩戏在傩祭舞蹈基础上发展而来，主要流传于以湖南省冷水江市及其周边所在的古梅山地区。它是一种祈福祭神的传统戏剧，集歌、舞、仪、祭于一体——用诙谐驱散恐惧，用笑声对抗无常。它不是高高在上的艺术，而是扎根民间的狂欢，演着最接地气的故事。几千年来，人们在傩戏中唱着、跳着、活着。那些粗粝的唱腔、幽默的科诨，藏着最朴素的愿望：平安、丰收，以及百姓生活里永不消逝的活力。
