The 2024 Zhangjiajie (Wulingyuan) Marathon was held on April 21.

This competition consisted of a full marathon (42.195 km), a half-marathon (21.0975 km), a 10-km run, and a happy run (5 km), attracting tens of thousands of domestic and foreign runners.
This event started from and ended at Wujiayu Ticket Station Square of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and passed through Baizhang Valley. While running along the route, participants could also appreciate picturesque scenery.

All participants could not only visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the first national forest park in China, for free, but also buy preferential tickets of such scenic spots as Baofeng Lake, Huanglong Cave, Tianzi Mountain and Bailong Elevator.

Zhangjiajie has given play to the role of the first batch of national sports tourism demonstration bases, and launched a characteristic brand that integrates sports and tourism.

This year, Zhangjiajie Marathon has been recognized as an A1-class race by the Chinese Athletics Association. By combining the urban cultural and tourism resources with sports, a cultural, tourism and sports feat has been created, promoting the development of a model of sports plus tourism.

This year, Wulingyuan District will also carry out a series of tourism and sports marketing activities, integrate sports events with Wulingyuan’s characteristic culture and natural scenery, and drive consumption of food, accommodation and shopping, in a bid to promote the high-quality economic development.
