The "Friendly Sister Parks Mutual Exhibition and Interaction" and the promotional activities for the Fifth Asia-Pacific Geoparks Week were held on April 22, the 55th World Earth Day. It was jointly initiated by the Zhangjiajie World Geopark, together with 45 other geoparks, such as the Danxia Mountain National Geopark in Guangdong Province and the Yandang Mountain World Geopark in Zhejiang Province, and the Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). This aimed to advocate the importance of cherishing the Earth and fostering harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature.

At the Zhangjiajie World Geopark, the organizers launched a series of online-offline combined science popularization activities in diverse forms, and released study trip routes and science popularization books, bringing a science popularization feast to the public. The events enabled the participants to learn about the rich geological and geomorphological resources, excellent ecological environment, and profound cultural connotation of the 46 geoparks without leaving home, and guided the public to set up the idea of ecological civilization, establish the correct view of natural resources, and popularize the knowledge of earth sciences.

Various activities will be carried out successively during the period, including:

- A photography exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of Zhangjiajie being shortlisted for "World Geopark" by UNESCO;

- A topic discussion with the hashtag of "World Geopark and Me in 20 Years" on Weibo (microblog);

- The 8th "The Most Beautiful Marks of the Earth" Geopark Photography Competition;

- The World Earth Day Popular Science Knowledge games; and,

- The "World Geoparks on Stamps" collection.

The organizers will also join hands with various platforms and channels for promotion, helping the geoparks to enhance the influence of science popularization, promote the publication of earth science knowledge, attract the public to care for the mother Earth, and advance the sustainable development of geoparks and other nature reserves.
