The 9th China Longshan Sheba Day celebrations will be launched between April 23 and 25, according to the publicity authority of the Longshan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

Sheba Day is a traditional festival of ethnic Tujia people to worship ancestors and pray for a bumper harvest. Based on long-term development, Sheba Day has become a comprehensive carrier and a calling card of the folk culture of Tujia ethnic group.

The main venue will be set in the Longshan County Sports Center while a number of sub-venues will be distributed in scenic areas such as Taiping Mountain, Bamian Mountain, Wulong Mountain Cayon, and Liye Ancient Town.

Longshan County is the cradle of Tujia ethnic minority, home to six national-level intangible cultural heritage items including Tujia brocade and hand-waving dance. It is known for more than 40 national-level titles, such as the "place of Chinese Tujia hand-waving dance", and the "place of Chinese Tujia brocade". Beyond that, various national intangible cultural heritage shows such as Daliuzi, Maogusi dance, and Dongdongkui will be staged.

Longshan County is located on the northwestern boundary of Hunan Province, connecting with Hubei Province and Chongqing Municipality. It is in the geometrical center of four provincial capitals—Hunan's Changsha, Hubei's Wuhan, Chongqing Municipality, and Guizhou's Guiyang, and five county-level cities—Jishou, Zhangjiajie, Enshi, Qianjiang, and Tongren. One high-speed railway and two expressways intersect in the county.

Bamboo Slips and Intangible Cultural Heritage Shows and Experience
Venue: Liye Ancient Town Scenic Area
Duration: April 24 and 25
Activities: visiting Liye Qin Slips Museum and the ruins of the only preserved county town and the "First Well in China" of the Qin Dynasty; touring the ancient street of the Ming and Qing Dynasties; appreciating Tujia brocades; and, watching intangible cultural heritage shows

Tujia Campfire Party
Venue: Rebala Scenic Area
Duration: 19:00 to 20:00, April 22 to 25
Activities: Tujia campfire party, Tujia Dongdongkui instrument performance, Tujia brocade fashion show, and various Tujia folk dance shows

Red Story Tour
Venue: Ciyantang Scenic Area
Duration: April 23 to 25
Activities: listening to the revolutionary stories told by professional narrators, and experiencing red culture

Rock & Roll Concert
Venue: Bamian Mountain
Duration: April 22 to 25
Activities: enjoying live shows of famous music bands, barbecue and beers
