The Appointment Ceremony for the Changsha Global Research and Development Center (GRDC) International Consultative Committee was held on April 8. Zhou Haibing, vice governor of Hunan Province and mayor of Changsha City, attended the event and delivered a speech. Municipal leaders He Zhaohui, Liu Hui, and Peng Tao participated. Xu Fan, secretary general of the Changsha Municipal People's Government, was also present.

The core task of the Changsha GRDC International Consultative Committee is to thoroughly draw on the experience of advanced regions and cities at home and abroad, building a strategic, overall, and professional decision-making consultation platform for global R&D center cities. Eight experts were appointed by the Changsha GRDC International Consultative Committee for a 3-year term. They are engaged in various fields such as the automotive industry, environmental protection, and biomedicine.

Six experts attended the appointment ceremony, including Paul Taylor, chief consultant of the Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd.; Johan Laurell, a famous senior bioenergy expert in Northern Europe and president of the Nordic Sustainable Development Association; Reif Wilhelm, chief quality officer of the Innoloft International Innovation Center of Germany; and, Eric Westhof, an academician of the French Academy of Sciences, the German National Academy of Sciences, and the Academy of Europe and an internationally renowned molecular biophysicist. At the ceremony, Mayor Zhou Haibing presented letters of appointment to the six experts.

After the appointment ceremony, the experts will conduct industrial inspection tours and have industrial forum exchanges with relevant universities, research institutes, alliances and enterprises in different fields, to gain a deep understanding of Changsha's industrial development momentum and offer suggestions for building Changsha into a global R&D center city.
