From March 31 to October 26, Hunan's airports will carry out new flight schedule for the summer aviation season. Nine airports around the province will handle record 7,076 flights weekly, increasing 8.3 percent over the summer aviation season of last year.

Changsha and Zhangjiajie airports are anticipated to operate 5,442 and 667 flights respectively, rising 9.7 percent and 6.6 percent over last year.

The added or resumed routes are mainly oriented to the tourism market, according to a manager of the Hunan Airport Corporation. Changsha airport will see more flights to the major domestic cities based on a more coordinated schedule. The frequency of the flights from Changsha to Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, and Hainan increases to 30, 18, 20, and 21 respectively.

The number of international flights from Changsha airport will increase to 129, reaching ten destination cities, namely, London, Nairobi, Bangkok, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Vientiane, Ho Chi Minh, Nha Trang, and Ulan Bator. Among these destinations, 81.4 percent are covered in the four-hour aviation circle.

The first China-Mongolia air route in the central regions of China, linking Changsha and Ulan Bator, will be launched on April 8.

In order to satisfy the summer tourism demand, Hunan's airports will resume or increase frequency of the international tourism flights to the popular tourist cities, such as Singapore, Phuket, Jakarta, Manila, and Hanoi, during the summer aviation season.

Zhangjiajie airport plans to increase its international flights to 68 every week. The frequency of the flights to the major sources of inbound tourists, such as South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, will be increased in particular. New routes will be launched between Zhangjiajie and Manila, and the flights to 11 international destinations will be operated, namely, Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Bangkok, Busan, Inchon, Daegu, Cheongju, Muan, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong SAR, and Manila.
