Carrying 177 passengers, a RW226 aircraft of the Royal Air Philippines from Manila arrived at the Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport on March 29. It marked the resumption of regular round-trip air service between Zhangjiajie and Manila, reopening the air corridor for tourism, economic and trade, and cultural exchanges between the two cities.

The flight is operated every Thursday and Sunday, serviced by A320 aircraft. It takes off from Manila at 15:00 with the flight number of RW226, and arrives in Zhangjiajie at 18:30. The return flight departs Zhangjiajie at 19:30 with the number of RW227, and lands in Manila at 23:00.

Manila, the capital and largest city of the Philippines, is the economic and cultural center of the country. It is a tropical tourist destination, often referred as "New York in Asia" and a "Tropical Garden City". The Zhangjiajie-Manila air route began regular operation in 2019, setting up an air corridor between the "Land of Mountains" and the "Tropical Garden City".

So far, Zhangjiajie airport has resumed operations for 11 international and regional air routes. These routes have covered major international tourist source regions, including five to South Korea, five to Southeast Asia, and one to Hong Kong SAR.

Since the beginning of this year, Zhangjiajie's inbound tourism has kept heating up. As of March 28, the Zhangjiajie Customs authority has recorded 462 inbound flights and 69,800 inbound and outbound passengers.
