在以三刷亚洲纪录的方式夺得男子100米蛙泳冠军后，覃海洋将良好的竞技状态延续下去。在25日进行的男子50米蛙泳预赛中，他以26秒34打破亚洲纪录，位列第一晋级。在该项目半决赛中，覃海洋将亚洲纪录提高到26秒20，位列第一晋级决赛。

After winning the men's 100m breaststroke championship for breaking the Asian records for three times, Qin Haiyang continued his good competitive state. In the men's 50m breaststroke heats on the 25th, he broke the Asian record in 26.34 seconds and ranked first. In the semi-final of the event, Qin Haiyang improved the Asian record to 26.20 seconds, ranking first to qualify for the final.
