在中国进入高铁时代的今天，在湖南西部山区，仍有4趟没有空调、没有餐车、没有卧铺的绿皮“慢火车”，每天载着铁路沿线的群众穿行在武陵山片区。

Although China boasts the world's longest high-speed railway network and has replaced most slow trains with bullet trains, a few of the slow trains are still operating to connect remote areas with nearby towns and cities.

“慢火车”停靠途经的每个县乡小站，当地群众亲切地称之为“慢慢游”;因票价便宜，大家又叫它“扶贫公益火车”。

These slow trains stop at every county and township station, and the local people call it “slowly wondering”.

春运期间， 在焦柳线、渝怀线和沪昆线铁路上，广铁集团开行的怀化至重庆梅江7272/7271次、怀化至澧县7266/7267次、怀化至塘豹7269/7270次列车均不停运，每站必停，以方便沿线村镇群众出行。只有怀化至新晃至益阳的7275/7274次因运力紧张转为临客。

Even during the recent Spring Festival travel rush, train no 7272, no 7266, no 7269 stop at evrey platform.

寒来暑往，它们已经在线上相继运行了几十年，票价最低1元，一直未曾涨价。

These slow trains have been operating for decades, are kept running despite the changes and the reduction in the number of slow trains nationwide. The lowest price between two stations is only 1 yuan.

2月22日，穿行在崇山峻岭中的7267次列车，旁边是龙吉高速和省道229公路。“慢火车”因方便实惠，仍是沿线群众出行的首选。

Althouth the highway has offered an alternative choice, the train No 7272 is still the first choice for people to travel because of convenience and affordability. The photo showed that the train is passing through mountians.

这几趟“慢火车”所经过的怀化市、湘西土家族苗族自治州等地的县市多为“老少边穷”地区，经济欠发达。为方便沿途百姓，列车允许乘客挑着担子、背着大筐小筐的山货乘车。

Passengers taking trains for the first time are often surprised to find that many other travelers take vegetables, fruit and meat with them.

2月21日上午，7272次列车停靠麻阳漾头站，挑着担子的群众准备上车。因为小站没有售票窗口，列车员在给他们补票上车。

“慢火车平均上座率不足40%，只有在赶集时列车上才会热闹，一直都是在亏损运营。”广铁集团长沙客运段综合车队党总支书记郭毅告诉记者。

"The average attendance slow trains is less than 40%. They have been operating at a loss." said Guo Yi, the party branch secretary of the Changsha passenger transport section of the Guangzhou Railway Group.

目前，“慢火车”已经成为武陵山片区与外界沟通的主要桥梁，很多农副产品都通过这几趟“慢慢游”输送到怀化、吉首、张家界等城市出售。虽然车内设施简陋，但开行以来深受群众的欢迎和喜爱。

Operated by the Hunan passenger transport section of China Railway Guangzhou Group, the slow trains have become an essential part of local people's lives.

除了买卖货物，当地群众还搭乘“慢慢游”走亲访友，联络感情。郭毅说：“慢火车承载着沿线百姓对美好生活的希望，可以说是当地老百姓的‘公交车’‘扶贫车’。”
