It could be the North Pole, or the other side of the world. It could be a run across mountains and seas, or a Yueyang story heard by more people.

湖南日报·新湖南客户端岳阳频道策划推出双语融媒栏目《“岳”见越远》，从岳阳出发，与世界相遇。

Hunan Daily and the Yueyang Channel of Hunan Today are launching a new bilingual multimedia series, Yueyang Beyond. From Yueyang, meet the world.

一个“岳”字，是岳阳，也是出发的原点；“见”，意味着看见世界，也让世界看见岳阳；而“越远”，则是跨越山海，打开更远的视野。

" Yue " stands for Yueyang, where we begin. " Jian " means to see: to see the world and to let the world see Yueyang. " Yueyuan " means going farther, crossing mountains and seas, and broadening our horizons.

我们希望以中英双语为桥，从人物、文化、城市与时代现场出发，用更年轻的表达、更开阔的视角，讲述发生在岳阳、连接着世界的故事。

With Chinese and English as a bridge, we will start with people, culture, city life and the moments unfolding around us. We want to tell Yueyang stories that connect with the world, with a fresh voice and a broader perspective.

我在北极跑了40圈，跑完七大洲，惦记的还是“第八大洲”。

I ran 40 laps at the North Pole. After running on all seven continents, I still had my sights set on this " eighth continent. "

极寒、浮冰、42.195公里。睫毛结冰，汗水冻住，脚下的冰还在漂……最后，我成了北极点马拉松男子组冠军。

Extreme cold. Drifting ice. 42.195 kilometers. My eyelashes froze, my sweat turned to ice, and the ice beneath my feet kept moving. In the end, I finished first in the male division of the North Pole Marathon.

有人问我：你这是“征服”了北极？

Someone asked me, " So, did you conquer the North Pole? "

其实没有，真正要突破的，从来不是北极。

Not really. The real challenge was never the North Pole. It was myself.

我更想做的是，冲过终点后，举起“左公故里 中国湘阴”的横幅，把家乡带向世界，把荣誉带回湖南！

What mattered even more to me was crossing the finish line and holding up a banner that read, " Xiangyin, China: Home of Zuo Zongtang." I wanted to take the name of my hometown to the world and bring the honor home to Hunan.

想走得更远，最重要的，是先开始。

To go farther, what matters most is to start.

从湘阴到北极点，这一次，我自己讲。

From Xiangyin to the North Pole, this time, I will tell the story myself.

一个人的脚步，从湘阴走向北极；一个小城的名字，也因此出现在世界最北端。

From Xiangyin to the North Pole, his journey carried the name of his hometown all the way to the top of the world.

这正是《“岳”见越远》想讲的故事：从一个人、一个地方出发，看见更大的世界，也让世界透过一个个真实鲜活的故事，看见岳阳。

That is the kind of story Yueyang Beyond wants to tell: starting with one person and one place, looking out to a wider world, and helping the world get to know Yueyang through the stories we tell.

世界很大，岳阳不远。

The world is vast, but Yueyang is never far.

这一程，从岳阳出发。

This journey begins in Yueyang.
