On September 16, participants of a training program for Laos government officials visited Hunan Changsha Online New Media Co., Ltd. (Changsha Online). They undertook a cross-border cultural exchange centering on topics such as urban development empowered by new media and innovative applications of AI technology.

The program was organized by the Ministry of Commerce and hosted by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce. Under the theme of "Mutual Learning for Win-Win Cooperation," 25 local government officials from Laos will undergo 21 days of training to systematically study China's experiences in urban governance, digital transformation, and media integration. To gain deeper insights into the development strategies of China's internet-famous cities, members of the training program came to Changsha for a five-day on-site inspection.

During the event, members of the training program systematically learned about the practical achievements of Changsha Online in the fields of content innovation, technology integration, and urban services through field visits, immersive experiences, and case sharing sessions.

In the AI experience session, participants were thrilled to learn that they could generate their own personalized digital avatars using AI algorithms. Everyone enthusiastically posed with "Chinese-style" gestures. Thanks to the AI algorithm, they quickly received their digital avatar photos, featuring exquisite ancient-style makeup looks or cute animated characters. The room was filled with continuous applause and exclamations of amazement.

At the end of the visit, members of the training program expressed that the trip was worthwhile. They not only witnessed the rapid development of digital technologies in Changsha but also deeply felt the opportunities and vitality that new media brings to urban development. They also expressed hopes for strengthened collaboration between Laos and China in areas such as technological innovation, talent cultivation, and content co-creation, exploring new models and pathways for how new media can empower urban development.
