The Story of Zhe'er Village

山里云深，水上人和。

风景如画，民族如歌。

生活的味道，因多元而丰厚。

折尔村的故事，就从这里开始讲起。

Amid the misty mountains, by the tranquil waters.

Life paints a landscape, diverse as a folk song.

Rich in flavor, woven from many threads —

This is where the story of Zhe'er Village begins.

在湖南安化的群山深处，云雾滋养着一片片茶园。这里山高路远，却藏着最适合茶树扎根的地理条件。

Deep in the hills of Anhua, Hunan, the clouds nurture vast tea gardens. Though remote, these highlands hold the perfect conditions for tea trees to take root.

我们这个茶园就当时分了三个部分，第一个部分，就我们老祖宗给我们留下来一个老茶园，第二个部分，生产队就做了一部分我们的，云台大叶种，第三部分，就我们（20）10年吧，我们公司通过土地流转，我们自己呢就栽培了一部分，整个这个茶园大概就是800亩。

Our tea garden, there were three part. The first part just our ancestors leave us an old tea garden. The second part, production team just did part of ours Yuntai big leaf species, Part Ⅲ, just us（20） 10 years, our company through land transfer, we cultivated some of it ourselves. The whole tea plantation probably eight hundred acres.

2016年，国务院发布《关于“十三五”脱贫攻坚规划的通知》，老支书谢文杰决定让茶园焕发新的产业活力。

In 2016, China's State Council issued the "13th Five-Year Plan for Poverty Alleviation," inspiring Xie Wenjie, the village's longtime Party secretary, to breathe new life into the tea industry.

那时候公司选择这块基地，通过土地流转过来以后，我们自己公司就挖了一条9公里的公路，在上面搞了一年半的时间就修通了这个进山的公路，方便了一些村民上来和我们采茶，把我们的茶叶运输下去。

At that time, the company chose this base. After being transferred through the land. Our own company, a 9-kilometer road was dug. Been working on it for a year and a half. This road into the mountain was repaired. It was convenient for some villagers to come up and pick tea with us, ship our tea leaves down.

春来秋去，风物轮转:最朴素的生活，往往孕育出最隽永的风味。

Seasons turn, winds shift — The simplest lives often yield the most enduring flavors.

为什么选择上面这个高山茶？就我们也是土生土长的在这个地方的人，也知道这个上面很适宜种茶，我们就想做地地道道的一个有特色的茶。

茶叶尚嫩，故事要慢慢讲。而折尔村的路，还在山里延展。

The tea leaves are still tender, the story still unfolding. And the road through Zhe'er Village stretches on, winding deeper into the mountains.

邓小军，土生土长的折耳村人。十八年前，他的生活还围着家具厂的木屑和鱼塘的水波打转。直到有一天，他把目光放在眼前这连绵的青山。

Deng Xiaojun, a native of Zhe'er Village, once spent his days amid sawdust at a furniture factory and ripples on a fishpond. Then one day, he turned his gaze to the rolling green mountains around him

“折耳村这山、这水，养黑山羊正合适。”放养，是折耳村黑山羊的基因。

"The mountains and waters of Zhe'er Village are the best for raising black goats." Home to the free-roaming Black Goats, a breed unique to this land.

挫折也曾是必修课，从初期的疫病到如今的预防，防大于治，成为牧场存续的关键。

Challenges came, as they must. From early outbreaks to today's preventive care, "prevention over cure" became the key to the ranch's survival.

而这群黑山羊，也成为了村民就业的法宝。黑山羊这条路，邓小军要带着乡亲们一起走。“到明年采取一个模式。把一些母羊全部分给那些脱贫户。生了小羊后再养到二三十斤再回收，村民也不需要另外找销路。”

And these Black Goats? They became the villagers’ lifeline. This is the path Deng Xiaojun walks—together with his people. "Next year,we will adopt a model. Some ewes can be distributed to those who have been lifted out. After they give birth to lambs, when the lambs weigh thirty or twenty catties, I will buy them back. This way, their sales will not be a problem and they don't have to worry."

黑山羊的养殖让村民们看见了希望，而大地的馈赠远不止于此。另一片山坡上，天麻、黄精等中药材静静扎根。

The goats brought hope, but the earth's gifts did not end there. On another hillside,herbs like gastrodia and Solomon's seal take quiet root.

我们现在主要栽这个中药材是要把生活、日子要过好一点。没有大棚，不施化肥。中药材直接种进山林，与树木共生。我们的天麻主要销(售）有干天麻 鲜天麻。销售量也不小，发展也比较好。

We are now mainly planting this Chinese herbal medicine is to live and live a better life. No greenhouses, no fertilizers. The herbs grow wild in the forest,rooted among trees, sharing life. Our Gastrodia elata main sales are dried Gastrodia elata and fresh Gastrodia elata. The sales volume is not small. Development is also better.

从单独售卖到合作社共销，折尔村的药材通过电商平台、线上直播走出大山。换来的收入修了路、亮了灯。村民们把盼头和日子一起交给了时间，慢慢酝酿。

From scattered sales to collective trade, Zhe'er's medicines now journey beyond the mountains through e-commerce, through livestreams. The earnings paved roads, lit streetlamps. Villagers entrust both their hopes and their days to time's slow, steady brew.

日子缓缓向前，

不同的民族，一样的期盼。

在这里，山水为邻，岁月为伴。

折尔村的故事，也会一直传唱下去。

Life moves gently onward.

Different peoples, the same dreams.

Here, the mountains and rivers stand as neighbors,the years as companions.

And the story of Zhe'er Village will keep singing on.
