Hunan's Little-Known Fact ①丨 Guess what? Hunan got a "South Great Wall"!

这道长城盘踞在湘西自治州的凤凰县及周边地界，总长度超过一万米，现在还能看到335处碉楼、88段墙体。

Welcome to Southern Great Wall, also called the "Miao Border Wall" — the only one of its kind in southern China.Winding through Fenghuang County and surrounding areas in Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, it stretches over 10,000 meters. Today, 335 watchtowers and 88 wall segments remain.

南方长城的修建不是抵御外敌，而是为了保障当地苗族群众的自治权利，承载着深厚的历史底蕴。

It was not raised to fend our foreign foes, but to safeguard the right to autonomy of the local Miao people, which holding deep historical weight.

从凤凰县城搭个巴士，就能轻松到达这个3A景点。在城墙上摸摸被岁月斑驳的砖石，仿佛能听见过去民族交流时的悄悄话——它就像一本会说话的老相册，记载着古代统治理念，也照着各族人民慢慢走到一起的曲折故事。

Take a bus ride from Fenghuang town to this 3A-rated scenic spot, run your fingers over its time-worn bricks, and you might almost hear whispers of ancient ethnic exchanges. It's like a talking album, recording ancient governance ideals and the journey of diverse peoples coming together.
