Media Delegation from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Visits Changsha

Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macao Media Delegation's "Charming China Travel—A Joyful Tour of Changsha" was launched on July 12. The event was hosted by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television. From July 12 to 14, more than 20 senior journalists from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, along with popular online influencers and travel bloggers, are scheduled to capture the city's cultural and tourism highlights through their camera lenses. This event is a key cultural tourism promotional activity hosted by Changsha as part of its efforts to establish itself as the "second stop for inbound tourism."

During the three-day tour, the media delegation will deeply experience and report on Changsha's history, culture, scenic landmarks, and culinary offerings. Their itineraries include:-Visiting the Changsha Museum and the Tongguan Kiln Museum to deeply explore the rich historical and cultural heritage of Changsha;-Touring the thousand-year-old Yuelu Academy, Aiwan Pavilion, and Orange Isle to trace the illustrious footsteps of Chairman Mao Zedong; -Enjoying a spectacular fireworks show at the Liuyang Sky Theater;-Embarking on an exciting journey from the heat of summer to the chill of winter at the Dawangshan Tourist Resort;-Experiencing the Tang Dynasty style in the Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town;-Watching captivating performances such as "When We Were Young" and "Discovering Changsha"; and, -Exploring Taiping Street, Huangxing Road, and Chaozong Street to savor the city's spicy cuisine and vibrant urban consumption.

In recent years, Changsha has set its sights on becoming a world-class tourism destination. Capitalizing on the inbound tourism boom spurred by the country's 240-hour visa-free transit policy, the city promptly launched the 2025 Changsha Inbound Tourism Promotion Plan. The plan introduces a series of incentives across three key areas: encouraging visitors to come to and stay in Changsha, supporting the exploration of overseas markets, and optimizing the inbound tourism environment. The efforts aim to foster a positive environment for jointly promoting inbound tourism development in Changsha.

Data shows that Changsha received a total of 97.4024 million domestic and foreign tourist trips in the first half of this year, with tourist spending reaching 103.703 billion CNY. Among them, 97.1642 million trips were made by domestic tourists, with a total spending of 102.676 billion CNY, representing a year-on-year growth of 7.57% and 5.34%, respectively. Additionally, the city saw 238,200 trips made by inbound tourist, who contributing a total expenditure of 144.5045 million USD, increasing by 54.19% and 49.25%, respectively.
