The 2025 Hunan Cultural Tourism Promotion Activities were launched at Terminal 2 of Changsha Huanghua International Airport on June 30. Organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the special campaign featured a vibrant array of activities including flash mob performances, cultural performances, volunteer services, and exhibitions of distinctive cultural and tourism resources, offering a comprehensive display of Hunan's profound heritage and unique charm.

Upon entering the departure hall of Changsha Airport's Terminal 2, travelers were greeted by performers presenting a puppet dance, where pastel-clad puppet figures twirled gracefully. Passengers also gained an up-close experience of a magic show, as well as the Xinjiang dance "Girls from Dabancheng" as they made their way to boarding, immersing themselves in Hunan's folk culture and vibrant energy.

Later, in the central hall of the arrival floor, various outstanding performances were staged, featuring traditional folk music, flower-drum opera, Peking opera, Hunan Gaoqiang (high-pitched) opera, cross-talk comedy, acrobatics, and puppet shows. These art performances highlighted the richness and diversity of Huxiang culture, offering passengers a captivating feast.

In recent years, Changsha Airport has repeatedly set new records in travel numbers, establishing itself as a vital showcase for Hunan's cultural charm.

The campaign serves as a vivid example of the deep integration between public cultural volunteer services and inbound tourism. By delivering high-quality public cultural services, the initiative aims to help visitors better understand Hunan's cultural context and ecosystem, elevating the depth of travel experiences, and facilitating the shift from traditional "sightseeing tourism" to "in-depth cultural tourism." These efforts inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of Hunan's cultural and tourism industry.

The cultural tourism promotion campaign will run until October this year. From Wednesdays to Sundays each week, vibrant cultural performances are scheduled to be staged at Terminal 2 of Changsha Airport. During holidays such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, special showcases featuring intangible cultural heritage and folk traditions will be presented, highlighting the natural landscapes and folk customs of Hunan's thirteen cities as well as Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

This initiative aims to offer passengers a unique "first impression" of Hunan's cultural and tourism, leaving them with an enduring memory of the province's distinctive charm.
