The "One Character Makes You Fall in Love with China" Chinese Culture Theme Exhibition was held in Geneva on June 10, as part of a celebration of the International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations, themed "Harmony in Diversity: Concert & Exhibition."

The exhibition displayed a series of Chinese character works created by Song Dan, founder and curator of the Hunan Song Dan Chinese Character Art Museum.

The bilingual picture book Tales of Chinese Characters and its derivative works also shone at the event, gaining widespread attention. The book, co-authored by the Hunan Provincial Library of Juveniles and Children and the Hunan Song Dan Chinese Character Art Museum, features 100 carefully selected Chinese characters. Each character is presented alongside a unique illustration that integrates the form and essence of Chinese writing, covering themes such as people, nature, and animals, with captions provided in both Chinese and English.

The exhibition attracted officials and guests from nearly 30 countries, including Russia, Cuba, and Indonesia. Many visitors stopped to admire the exhibits, expressing an keen interest in Chinese characters and culture, as well as a desire to visit China and explore Hunan Province. The event effectively linked culture with tourism.

A Chinese character art experience area was set up at the venue. Visitors could use rubbing tools to create impressions of ancient Chinese character artworks, immersing themselves in the charm of Chinese calligraphy. Additionally, the China National Symphony Orchestra Forbidden City Quartet performed well-known Chinese and Western musical works such as "The Butterfly Lovers" and "Auld Lang Syne," adding artistic vibes to the exhibition.

The event was hosted by the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland. It was co-organized by the Center for International Cultural Communication of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and the Changsha International Communication Center, among others. It was undertaken by the Hunan Song Dan Chinese Character Art Museum and the European Times Media Group.
