Hi everyone, I'm Xiaotian. You know what? I welcomed a special guest at Huanghua Airport. He's coming all the way from Gambia.

他就是被王毅外长点名的冈比亚农民穆萨・达博。曾经他在美国是一名收入优渥的工程师，因为家乡人吃不上充足的大米，他毅然决然回到冈比亚经营农场，研究水稻种植，并师从袁隆平。

He is Musa Darboe, a Gambian farmer, whose experience was cited by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Once an engineer with a well-paid job in the U.S., he resolutely returned to Gambia when he saw his fellow Gambians struggling with rice shortages, to run a farm and study rice cultivation under the mentorship of Yuan Longping

短短 5 年间，在隆平高科援外专家的指导下，穆萨的农场发展为冈比亚最大的农场，也是当地首个全机械化农场。一直以来，他都非常感谢袁隆平以及中国科研人员对他们的帮助与教导。

In just five years, under the guidance of foreign-aid experts from Longping High-Tech, Musa's farm has developed into the largest one in Gambia and the first one with full mechanization there. He has always been extremely grateful to Yuan Longping and Chinese scientific researchers for their help and guidance.

6 月 10 日，他受邀抵达长沙，跨越山海，只为告慰恩师袁隆平先生。

On June 10th, he was invited to arrive in Changsha, crossing mountains and seas, just to pay tribute to his mentor, Mr. Yuan Longping.

舟车劳顿回到房间 ，打开箱子，他捧出两幅朋友所画的油画，上面是他和中国科研人员一起播种水稻的画面，他非常认真地为我们介绍。

After the long journey, back in his room, he opened the suitcase and held out two oil paintings by friends, depicting scenes of his planting rice with Chinese scientific researchers. He introduced them to us very earnestly.

11号上午，天空淅淅沥沥下着雨。仿佛袁院士也感知到了这份万里而来的真诚，墓园的雨越来越大，淋湿了穆萨的衬衫和外套，而他依然虔诚地瞻仰着袁院士的墓园。

On the morning of the 11th, it was drizzling. As if Academician Yuan had perceived the deep sincerity from thousands of miles away, the rain at the cemetery got heavier, soaking Musa's shirt and coat, yet he still stood reverently before Academician Yuan's tomb.

怀抱着一袋沉甸甸的自种杂交水稻稻米，他亲手将稻米和油画放在袁院士的墓前，微微颤抖的双手难掩激动。

Holding a bag of heavy home-grown hybrid rice, he personally placed the rice and the oil paintings in front of Academician Yuan's tomb. His slightly trembling hands could hardly hide his excitement.

离开袁隆平院士墓园后，穆萨继续前往隆平水稻博物馆，在展馆中深入了解中国的水稻种植文化以及袁隆平院士的一生。参观完展厅后，他久久驻足在门口，不断地念着袁院士的话，“人就像一粒种子，要做一粒好种子。”

After leaving Yuan's tomb, Musa continued to visit the Longping Rice Museum, where he deeply learned about China's rice cultivation culture and the life of Yuan Longping. After visiting the exhibition hall, he stood at the exit for a long time, repeatedly reciting Academician Yuan's words: "People are like seeds; we should strive to be good seeds."

来到隆平水稻文化园，穆萨迎来了一个小小的惊喜。随着巨型稻穗烟花的绽放，丰硕的稻谷在天空中肆意展开，象征着丰收与希望，也承载了对袁隆平院士的缅怀与敬意。这一刻，穆萨也忍不住露出了无比开怀的笑容。

At the Longping Rice Cultural Park, Musa was greeted with a small surprise. As fireworks shaped like giant rice ears went off, plump “grains” were scattered in all directions overhead, symbolizing harvest and hope, as well as our remembrance and respect for Academician Yuan Longping. At this moment, Musa couldn't help but break into a heartwarming smile.

跨越 1.2 万公里，在冈比亚金色稻田里辛勤耕种的穆萨，此刻也站在了袁院士调研的土地之上，“禾下乘凉梦” 的种子正破土生长。荒地变成良田，机械替代手工。金黄稻田下的阴凉，不仅是穆萨的丰收喜悦，更是跨越万里的承诺兑现。

Having traveled 12,000 kilometers, Musa, who has worked hard in Gambia's golden paddies, now stands on the land where Academician Yuan once conducted research. The seed of the dream , i.e., “to enjoy the cool under the rice crops taller than men”, is breaking through the soil. Wastelands have become fertile fields, and machinery has replaced manual labor. The shade under the golden rice fields is not only Musa's joy of harvest but also the fulfillment of a promise across thousands of miles.

穆萨说，他还要去中非经贸博览会看看，寻求更多紧密的合作，期待中非友谊更加深厚绵长。

Musa said he would also visit the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo to seek closer cooperation and look forward to a deeper and more enduring China-Africa friendship.

当他带着冈比亚土地孕育的稻谷，在袁隆平墓前轻声诉说 “不再挨饿”，禾下乘凉的愿景早已突破国界，在非洲大陆结出希望的果实。

When he brought the rice grown on Gambian soil and whispered "no more hunger" in front of Yuan Longping's tomb, the vision of "enjoying the cool under the rice crops " has long transcended national boundaries, bearing fruits of hope on the African continent.
