International Rescue Skills Competition to Kick off in Changde

An international challenge of comprehensive rescue skills will kick off at Liuye Lake Beach Park and Taiyang Mountain Forest Park in Changde between May 9 and 11. The Changde 5.12 Disaster Prevention and Reduction Publicity Week will be launched simultaneously.

The events are co-organized by the Changde Emergency Management Bureau, the Changde Fire Rescue Detachment, and the Liuye Lake Tourism Resort Administrative Committee.

The event will be attended by 29 teams from across China and foreign countries including Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, with over 500 domestic and international professionals in emergency rescue fields.

Two main and seven supporting activities will be held on May 10 and 11.

The main activities are: high-intensity and full-factor practical rescue skill competitions, covering command management, mountain rescue, water rescue and other situations; and, image and video presentations and demonstration of emergency rescue skills in such scenarios as fire escape, earthquake drill, and CPR at the east parking lot of Liuye Lake Beach Park.

The supporting activities, also to be held at the east parking lot of Liuye Lake Beach Park, include: opening ceremony, rescue technology and equipment exhibition, rescue facilities experience, meet-and-greet of representatives of the Blue Sky Rescue Team, interaction with rescue dogs, camping bazaar, and closing and award ceremony.
