The 2025 Xiaoxiang Foreign Expert Volunteer Activity was held at the Changsha Changjun Bilingual School on the afternoon of May 7. Five experts from the UK, Germany, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and other countries, along with over 100 high school students from the school’s international division, joined in a cross-border "scientific dialogue."

Foreign experts including Prof. Muhammad-Sadeeq Balogun (Chinese name "Tang Jie") from the College of Materials Science and Engineering at Hunan University and Jonathan O'Halloran, chief technology officer of Hunan Shengwei Kunteng Biotechnology Co., Ltd., delivered lectures, using vivid language and interactive approaches. They covered topics like high-performance lithium-ion new materials, molecular diagnostic equipment testing technologies, systematic research on new energy vehicles, essential knowledge on youth health and exercise, and practical pathways for high-quality development under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Hunan has always placed high importance on serving foreign experts. The Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology has organized a series of Xiaoxiang Foreign Expert Volunteer Activities to encourage foreign experts to actively integrate into Hunan's sci-tech innovation and development. The Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology will further cultivate a favorable and open environment for the employment and entrepreneurship of foreign talent in Hunan, strengthening the brand-building of the Xiaoxiang Foreign Expert Volunteer Service program, and encouraging more foreign experts to share stories of Hunan's sci-tech innovation. This initiative will play a significant role in enhancing the global reach and impact of Chinese culture.The attendees also included Deng Xianjue, second-level inspector of the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, along with representatives from the Sci-Tech Talent Department of the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Hunan Provincial Center for International Sci-Tech Exchanges, and the Changsha Changjun Bilingual School.
