According to the Hunan Statistics Bureau, in the first quarter this year, Hunan's GDP reached 1,270.24 billion CNY, increasing by 5.4 percent at constant prices year on year. The provincial economy has demonstrated good development momentum, featuring steady growth with an upward trend, innovative development with improving quality, and strengthened market expectation. A stable and good start in economy for the year has been reached.

Industrial development maintained an upward trajectory. The primary industry recorded value-added output of 65.271 billion CNY, up 3.3 percent; the secondary industry grew 6.2 percent to 440.654 billion CNY; and, the tertiary industry expanded 5.1 percent to 764.314 billion CNY.

Domestic demand expansion yielded notable results. In the first quarter, Hunan's total retail sales of consumer goods reached 513.595 billion CNY, marking a 5.6-percent growth over the previous year. Essential living consumption maintained accelerated growth, with trade-in policies achieving significant results. Fixed-asset investment grew 4.8 percent, accelerating by 0.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

Emerging driving force showed robust growth. In the first quarter, the investment in high-tech industries across the province surged 11.1 percent year on year, 3.2 percentage points higher than the same period of last year. The value-added output of high-tech manufacturing enterprises above designated size rose 12.5 percent, with their sensors, service robots, new energy vehicles, and solar cells all maintaining strong momentum of rapid growth.

Quality and efficiency of economic growth continued to improve. During the quarter, the value-added output of industrial enterprises above designated size in the provincial-level and above industrial parks grew 10.7 percent, outpacing the overall industrial growth by 2.9 percentage points and accounting for over 70 percent of the total industrial output. Hunan's general public budget revenue increased 1.4 percent, with tax revenue from the manufacturing sector rising 9.5 percent.

People's well-being saw steady enhancements. In the first quarter, per capita disposable income for all residents grew 5.6 percent, outpacing the growth of overall economic.
