Every night, such intangible cultural heritage (ICH) projects as Tujia wedding song, Yao climbing stairs, and Sangzhi folk song are staged in Zhangjiajie Charming Western Hunan Grand Theatre, attracting numerous visitors.
Since the beginning of this year, the folk opera “Charming Western Hunan” has been performed over 450 times and received 1 million visitors at home and abroad.
Wulingyuan District has 44 representative ICH projects, including 9 national, provincial and municipal ICH projects.
Since the beginning of this year, the district has focused on making travel more interesting through immersive experiences, and actively promoted the integrated development of ICH and tourism through various ways such as exhibitions, cultural performances, and interactive experiences. Visitors can have a pleasant mood and wonderful experience of visiting scenic spots and appreciating cultural performances.
The district uses ICH elements to create study tour routes. ICH projects are often displayed in all 4A level and above scenic spots in Wulingyuan District, effectively improving the cultural connotation of scenic spots.
It also integrated three-stick drum and Tujia bamboo pole dance into the tourism projects, and created a series of cultural exhibition and experience attractions, such as Guaiyaomei Tujia Brocade National Cultural Industry Demonstration Base, Wulingyuan Yuquanyu Tribute Rice Workshop and Huanglong Cave ICH Workshop, to promote cultural tourism.
The district introduced ICH products such as Tujia vine tea, Tujia kudzu powder and Tujia brocade into shopping venues of scenic spots. It has vigorously promoted the productive protection of ICH, with 2 ICH workshops at municipal level. It has launched and sold a series of ICH cultural and creative products.
Deng Shihua, a representative inheritor of provincial-level ICH projects, introduced that since the beginning of this year, he has sold more than 1,500 pyrograph works, with a revenue of over 100,000 yuan.
The district also focused on promoting ICH, broadcast a special film for Wulingyuan at home and abroad through mainstream media platforms, and organized 370 streamers to launch 3,146 livestreaming events, with over 50 million viewers, promoting the popularity of Wulingyuan.
In the first seven months of this year, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park received over 4.04 million visitors.
